I have to say, game reviews are weird these days. In the event of long play throughs, reviewers probably play these games for about a couple of hours before giving a final verdict. Sorta like looking at an anime, rolling the eyes at another transformation scene/ weeaboo girly mash and only getting through the first three episodes before giving up.
I want to say most reviewers tend to just give their -own- verdict and not really give an open opinion towards the -consumers-, the people that would want to buy these games. Because us, as gamers, don’t want to spend our hard earned money on something that could trivialize our time and efforts, so we look towards these reviews with a definite decision.
When people say “Yeah this game is a 6”, it really does affect most of the community. I know games like Destiny and Sims will still be bought, but the casual gamers, ie people who enjoy playing games here and there in small amounts, might not get them. Games tend to be bought by word of mouth, not just from flare alone. I know I’ve bought my fair share of games just to have a good time with friends.
What I’m saying is, don’t always trust big budget reviewers. Trust your gut and what people saying. Or better yet, try the game for yourself.
but what if it’s 60 bucks, comes from a company known to make the community their bitch, and yet still makes a fuckton of money?
